Our Mission
Montana Watchmen exists to strengthen communities by mobilizing volunteers, resources, and support during times of crisis, hardship, and disaster. We believe strong communities are built by individuals who are willing to stand watch for one another. Through preparedness, service, mentorship, and practical assistance, Montana Watchmen helps individuals and families face challenges with greater strength and unity.
Our mission is simple:
To ensure that no Montana family stands alone in times of crisis, hardship, or natural disaster.
“We stand watch so Montana families don’t stand alone.”
Our Inspiration
Montana Watchmen was inspired by a simple but powerful question:
“If our neighbors are in need, how can we help?”
After witnessing the devastating flooding in North Carolina in 2024, founder Von Dailey felt a strong calling to help those affected. Like many people watching from afar, he wanted to help but realized that many individuals who care deeply about serving others simply don’t know where to begin.
That moment sparked a vision:
What if there were a network of people ready to respond when communities face hardship?
What if individuals could contribute in the ways they are able, whether through time, resources, financial support, or practical skills?
From that vision, Montana Watchmen began to take shape as a network of individuals willing to stand watch for their communities.
Our Purpose
Montana Watchmen exists to connect people who care with opportunities to serve. Not everyone can respond physically during a crisis, but everyone can contribute in some way. Some people offer time and labor. Others provide financial support or resources. Many help by sharing skills, encouragement, and leadership. Our goal is to develop both macro and micro support networks that can mobilize when disaster strikes or when families and communities face hardship.
Disaster Response Network
Natural disasters often leave communities overwhelmed and under-resourced. Montana Watchmen is working to build a Natural Disaster Response Team made up of volunteers who are willing to assist when communities face severe weather events, wildfires, flooding, or other emergencies. This response network operates in two ways:
Macro Response
A larger coordinated effort where volunteers, resources, and support can be mobilized to assist affected communities during major disasters.
Micro Response
Local support teams within communities that can quickly assist neighbors with practical needs such as cleanup, supplies, temporary assistance, or coordination of community support.
Through this structure, Montana Watchmen hopes to provide meaningful assistance while strengthening local resilience.
Our Values
Stewardship
We believe in responsibly using resources, time, and talents to benefit others.
Service
We are committed to helping individuals, families, and communities through practical action and compassion.
Preparedness
Strong communities are built when people are equipped with knowledge, awareness, and readiness to face challenges.
Integrity
We operate with honesty, transparency, and accountability in all that we do.
Unity
Communities are strongest when individuals support one another regardless of background or circumstance.

Standing Watch Together
Montana Watchmen is built on a simple belief: Strong communities are not built by institutions alone, but by individuals who care enough to stand watch for one another. Whether through time, resources, prayer, mentorship, or financial support, every contribution helps strengthen the network that supports families and communities when they need it most.
Why the Name “Watchmen”
The name Watchmen reflects the timeless idea of individuals who stand alert to protect and support their communities. Historically, watchmen served as guardians who remained attentive when others rested. They watched for danger, warned others when trouble approached, and helped ensure the safety of those around them. The Montana Watchmen Network carries that same spirit forward.
Today, standing watch means being aware of the needs within our communities and responding when neighbors face hardship, crisis, or uncertainty. It means choosing responsibility over indifference and service over comfort. For some, standing watch means volunteering time and labor. For others, it means offering resources, mentorship, encouragement, or financial support. Every act of service strengthens the network. At its heart, Montana Watchmen is built on a simple belief:
When people stand watch for one another, communities become stronger, safer, and more resilient.
Standing watch begins with a single person willing to care.
But when many stand watch together, communities become stronger.
How the Watchmen Network Works
Montana Watchmen operates through a growing network of individuals willing to step forward when communities face challenges. The network allows people to contribute in ways that fit their abilities, resources, and availability. Some members serve through direct volunteer efforts, while others support initiatives through professional skills, resources, financial contributions, or prayer and encouragement. When needs arise, the Watchmen Network helps connect willing individuals with opportunities to serve. The network is designed to support both large-scale response efforts and local community assistance.
Local Support (Micro Network)
Local volunteers help address needs within their communities. This may include assisting families during hardship, helping after local emergencies, or supporting community outreach efforts.
Coordinated Response (Macro Network)
During larger events such as natural disasters or regional emergencies, the broader Watchmen network can mobilize volunteers, resources, and financial support to assist affected communities.
This structure allows Montana Watchmen to remain both locally connected and broadly supportive.
A Network Built on Willingness
The Watchmen Network is not built on obligation but on willingness. Members are not expected to participate in every opportunity. Instead, they contribute when and where they are able. Some people serve through time and labor. Others contribute resources, professional expertise, or financial support. Every contribution strengthens the ability of the network to respond when communities need help most.
